# Random Picks

> Random Picks automatically shows randomly selected products as recommendations. You can filter by product type, collection, vendor, or tag to keep suggestions relevant, or show any product from your catalogue at random.

Random Picks is a hands-off recommendation type that automatically selects products from your catalogue at random and displays them as recommendations on product pages. No manual curation is required — the app picks and rotates products dynamically on each page load.

This is a great fallback for products that don't yet have a custom bundle, or for stores with large catalogues where curating every product individually isn't practical.

## Enabling Random Picks

1. Go to **Bundle setup** in the app sidebar
2. Toggle on **Random Picks**
3. Click **Configure** next to *Random Picks*

## Filter Options

By default, Random Picks draws from your entire product catalogue. You can narrow this down by applying one of the following filters:

### Do Not Filter Random Recommendations

All active products in your store are eligible to be shown as random picks. No restrictions apply.

### Filter by Product Type

Only products that share the same **product type** as the product currently being viewed are eligible. For example, if a customer is viewing a product with the type "Skincare", only other skincare products will appear as random picks.

### Filter by Collection

Only products that belong to the same **collection** as the currently viewed product are eligible. This keeps recommendations within the same product grouping.

### Filter by Product Vendor

Only products from the same **vendor/brand** as the currently viewed product will appear. Useful if you carry multiple brands and want to keep recommendations brand-consistent.

### Filter by Product Tag

Only products that share at least one **tag** with the currently viewed product are eligible. Tags must be set on your products in Shopify admin.

## Selecting a Filter

1. On the Random Picks configuration page, choose your preferred filter option
2. Click **Save**

<Note>
  Only one filter type can be active at a time. To change your filter, simply select a different option and save.
</Note>

<Info>
  If a filter is selected but the currently viewed product has no matching products (e.g. it's the only product with that type), the app falls back to unfiltered random picks to ensure the widget always has something to show.

## How Random Picks Blend With Other Types

In **Standard** algorithm mode, Random Picks fill recommendation slots that are not already occupied by custom bundle products or storewide products. The number of random picks shown is limited to the recommendation count you set in Bundle setup.

<Note>
  Products on the Excluded Products list will not appear as random picks, even if they match the active filter.
