# Quick Start Guide

> Set up Iconic Frequently Bought Together in a few simple steps: enable the theme embed, choose a recommendation algorithm, add your first bundle or recommendation type, and verify the widget on your storefront.

Follow these steps to get the Frequently Bought Together widget live on your store in minutes.

## Step 1 — Install the App

Install Iconic Frequently Bought Together from the Shopify App Store. Once installed, the app opens in your Shopify admin under **Apps > Frequently Bought Together**.

## Step 2 — Enable the Theme App Embed

The widget requires a one-time activation in your theme settings.

1. In your Shopify admin, go to **Online Store > Themes**
2. Click **Customize** on your active theme
3. In the theme editor, click **App embeds** (the puzzle-piece icon in the left sidebar)
4. Find **Iconic Frequently Bought Together** and toggle it **on**
5. Click **Save**

  If you skip this step, the widget will not appear on any product pages, even if recommendations are fully configured.

## Step 3 — Choose Your Recommendation Algorithm

1. In the app, click **Bundle setup** in the left sidebar
2. Under the **Recommendation algorithm**, choose:
   * **Standard** — shows the best available mix of enabled recommendation types on every product page
   * **Exclusive Manual Bundles** — only shows the widget on products where you have manually created a custom bundle
3. Set the **Number of recommendations** (how many products to display alongside the main item)
4. Click **Save**

## Step 4 — Enable at Least One Recommendation Type

Still on the **Bundle setup** page, scroll down to **Types of recommendations** and enable at least one:

* **Custom bundles** — lets you hand-pick recommendations per product (configure in the Custom Bundles section)
* **Storewide recommendations** — shows a fixed set of products on every page (configure via the Configure button)
* **Random Picks** — auto-fills recommendations from your catalogue (configure via the Configure button)

  You can enable multiple types at once. The app will show the best available recommendations from all enabled types.

## Step 5 — Add Your First Recommendations

### Option A — Custom Bundle (per product)

1. Go to **Custom bundles** in the sidebar
2. Find a product in the list and click it
3. Click **Add products** and select the items you want to recommend alongside that product
4. Click **Save**

### Option B — Storewide Recommendations

1. On the **Bundle setup** page, click **Configure** next to *Storewide recommendations*
2. Click **Add products** and select up to 100 products
3. Click **Save**

## Step 6 — Optionally Set a Discount

1. Go to **Discounts** in the sidebar
2. Toggle **Global discount** on
3. Choose a discount type (Percentage, Fixed amount, Cheapest item for free, or Free shipping)
4. Enter the discount value and optionally set a minimum bundle value
5. Click **Save**

  Discounts sync automatically with Shopify's discount system. It may take a few seconds for the discount to appear in your Shopify admin under **Discounts**.

## Step 7 — Check Your Storefront

Visit any product page in your store that has recommendations configured. You should see the **Frequently Bought Together** widget with the recommended products, prices, and (if enabled) the bundle discount.

Congratulations — your setup is complete!
